Sustainability is both an aspiration and an attitude for us. From material-conscious manufacturing and long-lasting product quality to regional production "Made in Oelsnitz": Our carpets conserve resources, extend life cycles and fulfil ecological and social standards that count today and tomorrow.

This includes resource-conserving production, products tested for harmful substances, fair working conditions and a voluntary commitment to strict testing and certification systems.

Responsibility at every step

For us, sustainability begins with the resource and does not end with the product. We combine environmental awareness, economic thinking and social action to form a whole.

For us, ecology means conserving resources, reducing emissions and keeping as many materials as possible in the cycle. Economy means remaining competitive in the long term - through quality, efficiency and reliable partnerships. Social behaviour includes fair working conditions, regional responsibility and cooperation at eye level.

All of this flows into our carpets - from the idea to the installation.

Sustainable living spaces

Our carpets make a tangible contribution to the quality of indoor spaces. They bind fine dust, improve acoustics and make rooms feel pleasant - in hotels, offices, public buildings and at home.

Added value at a glance:

  • lower fine dust pollution compared to smooth floor coverings
  • better room acoustics and less impact sound
  • pleasant underfoot warmth and higher perceived room temperature
  • low-emission, tested products for good indoor air

Materials with a future

We specifically use materials that conserve resources and strengthen cycles - without compromising on design and quality.

These include, among others:

  • Recycled yarns
    from old fishing nets or production waste, which replace high-quality new goods and keep raw materials in the cycle.
  • Nature-based products
    with linen and jute fibres that support a pleasant indoor climate and can be returned to the cycle at the end of their life cycle.
  • Modular carpet tiles
    with bitumen- and PVC-free coatings that can be partially replaced - instead of replacing entire surfaces.
  • Durable yarn qualities
    with high resistance, which extend the service life of the floor covering and thus conserve resources.

In this way, we combine design freedom with a clear contribution to conserving resources.

Resource-conserving production "Made in Oelsnitz"

Our production site in Oelsnitz is located in a sensitive environment with high environmental requirements. We are aware of this - and it motivates us at the same time.

We continuously invest in efficient systems, modern water treatment and energy-optimised processes. Leftover paint is utilised as an energy source and purified water is returned to the cycle in a controlled manner. Through measures such as heat recovery and the increased use of renewable energies, we are reducing our ecological footprint step by step.

"Made in Oelsnitz" therefore stands for regional responsibility, short distances and high environmental standards.

Social responsibility

For us, sustainability does not end with the product. It starts with the people who work at HALBMOND and continues in our relationships with customers, partners and the region.

This includes, among other things

  • fair, collectively agreed pay and reliable framework conditions
  • a high proportion of women and many women in positions of responsibility
  • Training and further education, dual study programmes and active knowledge transfer
  • Health and social programmes that make working at HALBMOND attractive in the long term

This creates an environment in which sustainable action is part of everyday life.

Transparency and certifications

We have our statements on sustainability checked regularly. Relevant environmental and quality certificates as well as environmental product declarations document how our carpets perform in production and use.

This creates a reliable basis for architects, planners and building owners - from material selection to building certification.
