Added value that boosts well-being
Textile flooring solutions make a significant contribution to the healthy perception of rooms: They bind fine dust, reduce noise, create a balanced indoor climate and are particularly suitable for allergy sufferers. We define room health as those properties that support physical well-being and contribute to a less stressful environment.
Our carpets make more than just a visual contribution: they demonstrably improve air quality, reduce fine dust pollution, dampen sound and store heat. This creates rooms that are not only more beautiful, but also noticeably healthier - and this can even be measured.
Carpets act like a fine filter in the room: dust and particles are trapped in the surface instead of floating permanently in the air. Studies - including those by the German Allergy and Asthma Association (DAAB) and the Society for Environmental and Indoor Analysis (GUI) - show that fine dust pollution in rooms with carpets is significantly lower than with smooth floor coverings.
Carpets from HALBMOND are also low-emission and fulfil the legal requirements for CE marking in accordance with European standards. Without the CE mark, it is not possible to obtain approval under building law - this is a clear quality benchmark for indoor air.
Indoor health plays a key role, especially for allergy sufferers. Carpets do not trap allergens and mites in the air, but in the surface - making them more accessible for regular cleaning.
In combination with a suitable cleaning strategy (powerful brush vacuum cleaners, regular maintenance cleaning), this can noticeably reduce the burden. The result: an interior that is also better tolerated by sensitive people.
Quiet rooms are automatically perceived as more pleasant and "healthier". Carpets make a measurable contribution to this: they dampen both airborne and impact sound and thus significantly improve room acoustics.
By way of comparison:
Other types of flooring achieve impact sound improvement values of up to 20 dB, whereas textile floor coverings are typically between 20 and 40 dB.
Less reverberation, muffled footsteps, an overall quieter atmosphere - this reduces stress, promotes concentration and increases well-being in hotels, offices, educational institutions and living spaces alike.
Carpets store heat and act as "indirect heat suppliers": on average, they contribute around two degrees to the perceived room temperature.
This means that the room is perceived as warmer without the heating having to be turned up as much. This not only increases comfort - through pleasant underfoot warmth, for example - but can also help to reduce a building's overall energy consumption.
Room health is the result of the interplay of many factors: the right quality, a suitable choice of colour and material, professional installation and sensible cleaning. Carpets from HALBMOND support this interplay - with properties that you can see, feel and notice in the long term in everyday life.
You can read about how care and cleaning extend the service life of the carpet - and thus also ensure the long-term health of the room - here.
At HALBMOND, room health is not only based on product properties, but also on verifiable standards:
For architects, planners and building owners, this is a reliable basis if indoor health plays a central role in the project - for example as part of building certifications.
